/ Character Design
In contrast to the sharp lines in typography and app design, I opted for a more cute and rounded character design. I created a star-shaped individual that embodies the user, providing a charming and relatable touch to the app's functionality.
/What is Art Swap?
Art Swap is the ultimate app for Berlin artists to connect, collaborate, and create together. Whether you're a painter, sculptor, digital artist, or any other type of visual creative,
Art Swap provides the perfect platform to find like-minded artists and work on exciting projects together. Share your portfolio, discover new talents, find jobs and join collaborative projects that spark your creativity.
Art Swap was created in collaboration with Kaja Szumiło.
/ Design
When starting this project, we had a few key objectives in mind. We aimed for the app to serve two main purposes, which we later termed the "Art Friends" and "Art Jobs" sections. The design heavily incorporated the slash symbol to represent the switch between these modes, adding a sense of dynamism and fluidity to the user experience.
/ Color Palette
The color palette for the project was meticulously chosen to enhance the user experience. We selected vibrant and neon colors to reflect creativity, boldness, and artistic spirit, yet used subtly enough - allow the users and their art to shine.
This palette visually differentiates the two main sections of the app. The "Art Friends" section features a playful pink and orange combo, while the "Art Jobs" section utilizes a little bit more professional lilac and lime color combination.
We also opted for a dark background, as initial research indicated that dark mode is more widely used by our user base. This choice not only enhances visual comfort but also allows the vibrant and neon colors of our palette to stand out.
I hope you enjoy the result as much as I enjoyed the process of creating it!
